Inspection Procedure
1.Clean airframe
Every 10 hours of flight, or after an operation in a specially dusty environment, please carry out a deep clean on the airframe. Pay special attention to:
- Arms boom joints
- Battery connectors
- Service connectors on the bottom plate
- Motors
- GPS modules
2.Check Arm Pin loose in position.
Check that the Arm Pin is fully threaded in position

This is a Constantly moving part, and due to vibrations is can get loose in the thread.
3.Check arm booms screws.
Check that the joint piece firmly grips the carbon fiber tube.

4. Check arms boom O-ring.
Check that the O-Ring is in good condition. If it is worn it must be replaced.

5. Check Arms Boom Alignment.
The easiest way to carry out this check is to verify that the tips of the upper propellers from two adjacent motors are perfectly aligned.
-
Tip: A drift of more than 0.5cm is a symptom of rotated arms.
-
Impact: This misalignment may induce an undesirable yaw movement during flight, which the autopilot will need to compensate for.

This results in increased battery consumption.
6. Check propeller screws.
Check that there are no loose screws in the connection between the propeller and the motors. The Hercules X4 uses x4 screws M3 x 10mm.

7.Check propeller blades tightening.
Sometimes the propeller blades got loose with respect its central hub. In order to correct this, please tight the locknut.

8. Check propeller integrity
The propeller blades are made of carbon fiber, a material that start losing its properties due to delamination of the fibers. A delamination usually starts as consequence of an impact on the leading edge of the blade. Verify that there are not signs of delamination.

9. Check motors rotation
Check that the motors rotates without obstacles and without producing any noise. If any of these situations occurs, please contact the manufacturer.
10. Check battery connectors
Check that the connectors are clean and free of impurities. Any impurity present inside the connectors must be removed. It is recommended to blow with compressed air.

The Battery input pins should be shinny and clean for a robust Power connection
11. Check battery Velcro straps status.
These straps are consumables and with use, they will lose their mooring capacity. It is necessary to guarantee a strong and tight mooring prior to each operation.
12. Check antennas status.
Check that all the antennas are tightened, intact and the connectors in good condition.
